You should loot at the Discovery reportage about Lance's cancer, you will ear Lance's doctor saying that he had 40% chance of survival. Testicular cancer are one of the easiest to cure. Could be your BB. If it's FSA they have a tendency to loosen (on the lower end models), in which case it needs to be tightened again. Worst case - a bearing is cracked. Also, make sure your chainrings are in good shape and even lubricate your seatpost, which is surprisingly the cause of a number of squeaks.

Its these professional cockroaches that are the pox on our roads. They don't even keep on the cycle paths that are specially made for them. Why? Because they are sinewy mutants that like to pedal, pedal, pedal... One demon pack ran a red light and killed an elderly man. Why? Because they are aggressive, pedal pumping, prawns. Cyclists, especially these types, are nasty cockroaches. They need to be scrawny like a horse jockey, but also need some strength to pump their pedals. They actually edited the lead car, until the two trucks squashed it, I didn't recognize the footage, but it's from an episode of Worlds Wildest Police Videos. Hey, that WAS cycling in the 1950s - those were some CTC riders mainly, used to slowish runs. The racing clubs of the day had runs, but they were MUCH further and faster, many riders would be on a fixed wheel of between 66 inches and 72 inches, (ask if you need the formula) and they tended to have a sprint up the hills..... did you notice all those lovely empty roads then.....

new saddle? They don't make a gear big enough for me to climb a 17% gradient, especially after 7 miles of climbing. He looked like a Cat 1 rider on a 7% grade. Crazy!!! Simoni called Lance a Pirahna. I hope there is a blood-bath at the 2010 tour.

If you do your own research of pictures on web, you will see that Lance race body were similar after his cancer as before. He testimonied at SCA affair to have a similar weight in every TDF. Coyle' study says so. He was probably leighter in 2009 because of AICAR use.

its true he did lost a lot of weight. his muscle grew back differently. thats why he looks like less of a bulky rider now, compared to 1993. but over time he reached 165 again. some even say he weighed 174-5 back in 1993

That's not to say he doesn't have a lot of reason *to* like him, but yeah... also, I [and a lot of cycling fans] have an issue not with armstrong, but with some of his fans, who have this perception that he is The Greatest Cyclist Who Ever Lived. He's good, damn good, best *grand tour stage racer* of his era. But not The Best That Ever Was. I don't mean to diminish his accomplishment, but all I'm saying is people who are not Lance Fans are not simply "jealous" and only like LeMond for his name.

What I meant by "golden boy" was that he isn't some perfect, flawless god whom the Europeans just chose to despise out of spite. He's (less so these days, but that's a maturity that's fairly recent) always been a bit of an arrogant prick, and a lot of people don't like him not for of all the tours he won, but the way he won... like some people hate the Patriots because they didn't like the style they won by.

I don't know if Lance is a "golden boy", whatever that means. But he is a man who is the best at what he does, and a very grueling sport at that. And he is one who has survived cancer, and still went on to victory, over much younger opponents. That, and the fact that his occasionally "not nice" personality is the only thing people can say against him, and yes, he is worthy of respect.

Not true. I don't have a personal problem with Lance Armstrong, but I certainly think that it is not reasonable not to like the man. He has a great "PR Face", but there are moments where some rather... unfreindly... elements of his personality show up. That and he almost certainly doped in '99. I'm cool with that, since so did everyone else. But to say he's some kind of golden boy who the Europeans hate for no reason is rather naïve.
